Kidding Around in New York City, 60 West 15th Street
So I'm really looking forward to our trip home to the states this summer. We are lucky that my husband gets virtually 65 paid days of vacation, so we made the decision to spend the summer in the good ol' U. S. of A.
Although I love it here in the Middle East, I didn't realize how much I was going to miss my home country, family and friends. We are planning to visit my family in Chicago for a few weeks, my husband's family in Utah, and then off for an east coast adventure- hopefully fitting in Boston, New York and D.C. I've been to New York before, but never with kids, so I want to be PREPARED. One of my favorite sites is New York Mag– the online version of the fabulous magazine. I usually go there for fashion inspiration, but today, I stumbled across their Kids section. It has guides, planners, tips, and directories to enhance your visit to the city. I will be using these to prepare for a post I'm working on later where I'll feature children's design in each area that we visit, but for now, I want to share with you a kids store that we will for sure be stopping by on 15th street in the Big Apple. Kidding Around has been named the Best Indie Toy Store of 2009 by New York Mag, and I can see why. I'm sure it will be hard to find anything plastic or loud in this shop, where toys are chosen solely to inspire creativity. A great collection of classic toys, dolls, and games are sure to excite your little ones. So if you are in the area, check it out. Your kiddies will thank you.
And please- if you live in any of the areas I've listed above and have some tips or hot spots that are great for families, please drop me a line! I would love to hear from you: email@example.com.
