Wondering whether it’s OK to sail the skies while expecting? Though some airlines restrict travel after 36 weeks (and your doctor may even suggest you stick close to home for your entire third trimester), it’s perfectly safe to fly throughout most of pregnancy.
Follow these tips for safe travels with a baby on board.
• Check with your doctor before booking your ticket to make sure you have the green light to hit the tarmac.
• Allow yourself plenty of time at the airport before your flight—your extra baggage might make dashing to the gate more challenging than usual.
• Request an aisle seat so you can stretch your legs as needed.
• Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and combat low humidity in the cabin.
