Last month was Read Aloud Month but it’s never too late to pick up a good habit. By reading to your child for 15 minutes every day, you encourage more than love of the written word, you can boost your baby’s brain development. Board books, fabric books, magazines or even a page or two from the novel you’re currently reading (you know, the one you’re saving for your “spare” time, mom) are all fair game.
“Reading aloud to a child from birth is the single most effective thing a parent can do to stimulate a child’s brain and promote early language acquisition and literacy skills.” -ReadAloud.org
So get comfy in that rocker, snuggle in the big bed or relax with your little one on the sofa and read!
