One of the most frustrating and much anticipated parts of motherhood is feeding time.
Those first couple of feedings in the hospital and often the first several weeks of nursing at home are often filled with feelings of uncertainty and frustration, but when you and your little one finally get it, there is no better feeling in the world. Bottle feeding can include equal thoughts of uncertainty and is full of figuring out how to properly mix a bottle, what temperature to warm the milk to, and how to get that little person to burp.
For me starting solids was something I absolutely could not wait to do. Sitting your little tike up in their high chair and feeding them that first bite of rice cereal is one of the most fun and exciting parts of babyhood. Mommies have been feeding babies since the beginning of time, but modern invention has created products that help mommies and daddies feed their tiny tikes with much more ease and care.
Formula feedin’

Beaba's Bib’expresso is one of the coolest products I’ve seen in a while and is an absolute must for the formula feeding momma and a total bonus for those of us supplementing. This little piece of modern genius is around the size of a coffee maker and does just about everything besides going to the store and actually buying the formula. It prepares formula and warms it to the perfect temperature in only a few seconds all while you’re holding your anxious little love.
We began supplementing when my son was around 6 months old and due to his love of mommy milk, he completely rejected powdered formula. He was, however, accepting of the more expensive premixed formula. I so wish the Bib’expresso had been around then. Its unique water flow mixes powdered formula quickly and in my opinion much better than when mixed the old fashion way. Its unique water flow system reduces air bubbles and eliminates hot spots, so you can feel safe using it for your little one. It also includes a compact, removable bottle and food warmer and conveniently located bottle sterilizer.
I began testing the Bib’expresso a couple of weeks ago and it has become one of my must-have products that I’m suggesting to all my friends.
Nursing

Almost every mom has heard of the much famed Boppy pillow. My Boppy came straight from the store. Recently however, as I was perusing their website I noticed the Build-a-Boppy option. This fun page allows you to choose from all of Boppy’s lively prints to select a complete Boppy or slipcover that represents your unique style and personality. The page is super easy to browse and allows the user to choose from girl, boy, or gender neutral prints. If you’re planning on purchasing a Boppy, I highly recommend their website so you can choose from their full line rather than the limited selection you might find at the store.
I was very reluctant to put a huge plastic monstrosity in my newly decorated dining room. Luckily, Istumbled across the Svan High Chair. I love a high chair that actually looks like furniture rather than yet another piece of plastic baby gear. The Svan is absolutely gorgeous and the elegant wood blends beautifully with my dining set. It’s available in several wood tones making it easy to select a chair that works in your space. The Svan High Chair is also a very smart piece of gear. This sturdy, modern chair is designed to grow with every stage of a child’s life. It provides ergonomic support from infancy and grows with your child through every stage of childhood. It easily acts as a high chair, booster seat at the adult table, and a traditional chair. It’s ingenious and a wonderful investment that will be part of your home for many years.

Many modern mommies are opting to make their little loves homemade baby food. Unfortunately, with many moms now in the workforce time does not always allow us to focus as much energy in this area as we would like. However, again we can thank modern technology for creating an even playing field where stay-at- home and working moms can all make nutritious, yummy food for their little ones. Again Beaba has knocked it out of the park with their creation of the Babycook. This amazing little piece of kitchen goodness functions as a steamer, blender, warmer, and defroster all in one. It’s super easy to use, simply add raw fruits, vegetables, or meat and allow the Babycook to steam. After steaming the Babycook then purees food to the perfect consistency. You can puree food to a very smooth watery consistency all the way to a thick chunky mix for older babies. It’s also easy to steam and puree two foods at once, such as carrots and peas.
Many of my friends have made baby food using a large steamer and a separate large food processer both of which have to be gotten out and put away daily due to their large scale. The Babycook takes up very little room on the countertop and packs a huge punch of convenience. The Babycook makes it so simple, easy, and convenient to make babyfood that even the busiest parent can pull it off.
If being a kitchen diva isn’t up your alley then have no fear. Plum Organics creates yummy, food for babies and toddlers using only organic products and nothing else. Their baby food line includes 3 stages all packaged in their convenient portable BPA-free pouches.

Pair them with Boon’s dispensing spoon for an easy feeding system for home or on the go.
Plum organics also has great products for older babies and toddlers. My son adores their Super Puffs, light, yummy cereal-like puffs that are a great first finger food, but are also tasty enough for toddlers to enjoy. Yum!
