When you're home with a new baby and looking for something to help get you out of the house, check out your local museum!

Not only is it a great place to keep your mind cultivated, it's a great way to introduce your tot to new sights and sounds. Many museums have areas dedicated to children, where little ones have space to climb and explore. You may even find that other moms have flocked to the arts for entertainment too, and make a friend or three out of the deal.

An added bonus is that museum gift shops are notorious for having the coolest toys and gadgets around—even for the small set!We recently visited a local art museum near our offices in Atlanta, and found these amazing goodies for the grabbing:
