I've always been a pen-and-paper kind of gal. My son recently plopped next to me on the couch with his baby book—he's eight, so he is sadly a long way from those baby days—and I was reminded of why I love written sentiments so much. We sat there curled up under a blanket, flipping pages, laughing and getting a little sentimental (OK, a lot sentimental) about how much he's grown. I was so thankful that I had taken the time to record all those little moments. Online memories are great, but I'm telling you—there's something special about holding that book in your hands and sharing it with your children. I encourage you to print some pictures, jot some notes—create an old school baby book. You won't be sorry you did.

And to get you started, here are a few books to choose from. Some are traditional, some a little less so (I personally loveMom's Five-Second Memory Journal, since five seconds is all too often all the free time I can find in my day).
