    Birthday inspiration

    Boy at birthday party

This weekend is my oldest son's birthday. He is turning 3. Wow. The time has flown. And even though he won't appreciate it, and most likely won't remember, I want to throw him a little bash.

Last year's party was great. Even though he cried when he was supposed to blow out the candles. Why, by the way, does every kid do this? Regardless, lots of friends came, and I hosted my first … yes first, party.

This year would have been even better except for the small fact that we live in a foreign country. I have to say, I didn't realize how great Target is, and how very much I miss it. No cute party favors, invites or paperware. Even if I did want to be crafty and make my own, there aren't really any craft stores here. Not to mention, we don't really have anyone to invite.
Despite all this, I'm going to make stellar chocolate cupcakes with chocolate chips and chocolate frosting, buy a couple of noise makers, and find kids on the street and ask them if they want to come to a party.

Meanwhile, we can all lust after these gorgeous themed parties for kids found on black eiffel.

Or this fancy party, by this crafty lady.
And last but not least …

Check out the ridiculously creative and beautiful mommy/designer/artist/blogger who put this little party together.
