Many moms-to-be swear by the benefits of the age-old art of meditation.

Meditation seriously reduces stress levels, which goes beyond good mental and emotional health—stress can cause your body to deteriorate physically, too.

It brings about a sense of peace. It can’t completely negate those raging hormones, but people who regularly practice meditation are usually calmer and less likely to get upset over little things.

Meditation has been known to be beneficial for everything from high blood pressure to pain management, and is also known to strengthen the immune system.

It improves brain function, increasing concentration, memory, and the ability to learn new things.

It gives you a period of time in which you can focus on nothing but you, your body, and your baby. By allowing yourself this time to slow down and clear your mind of all the clutter, you open the door to feelings of relaxation, self-worth, and peace to your little one, as well.
